Ancient Otaku

Artist:
Thosapol Boriboon
Date:
May 12, 2011 - June 19, 2011

Ancient Otaku is the second solo exhibition by a young artist, Thosapol Boriboon. The stem of the exhibition comes from a Japanese term “Otaku” which is used to refer to people with obsessive interests. Similar to the red lines showing in his previous series, the thin lines symbol the webs that virtually draw human together in the cyber world. While feelings, emotions and introspection of the artist are as well added into the artworks as symbolic figures to represent his ideas about the overlap between the truth in the cyber space and the illusion exists in the real world.
